I had high hopes for this, having a garden full of snails and slugs of all sizes and colours. It is easy to set up and unobtrusive. But, for every pest that drinks and drowns another will just crawl out. I have tried rounding up slugs, dropping them in and giving them a swish around, but still find many crawl out again. I mistakenly thought that once in they would stay in. It smells vile too. It has made no difference to the overall number of slugs in the garden. Sylvia, Leicester
