Wooden raised beds offer some great advantages over growing in open soil. They are easier to tend and manage, with less bending and kneeling required to maintain the beds. It is easier to control soil conditions to make the optimum environment for the plants you plan to grow. The raised beds can have a warming effect on the soil, offering some protection from cold snaps and also helping to warm the soil earlier in the season. Weeds are less of a problem and they also offer an extra element of protection against some soil borne pests. As well as all these benefits they also look really good in the garden too!
