Nemaslug Slug Killer is fast gaining a reputation as the organic way of winning the battle against garden slugs, and as one application of nemaslug can provide up to 6 weeks protection it proves a very cost effective way of controlling slugs too.
Nemaslug controls all common species of small to medium sized slugs. Start your control early and you will be able to target the young slugs growing under the ground before they do any damage.
This live product is despatched to UK Mainland addresses only and needs to be stored in the fridge until application.
One application of Nemaslug provides 300,000 nematodes - phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita - for every square metre of soil, giving at least six weeks control of slugs which is generally enough time for seedlings and bedding plants to get well established.
Simple to apply, impossible to overdose and totally safe to use around children, pets and wildlife, Nemaslug Slug Killer is ideal for organic gardening. Simply dissolve the entire pack into bucket to make a stock solution and then add 0.5L to a 5 litre watering can fitted with a very coarse rose and fill with water. This can then be watered on the garden from the start of the growing season once soil temperatures hit 5°C.
PLEASE NOTE: The new strain of nemaslug which is supplied is more lumpy than the old strain, but will work exactly the same way, the treatment is not faulty.
Slugs remain a prolific pest in the garden and their damage can extend far beyond destroying flowers and vegetables, as they can carry lungworm parasite that can cause serious health problems in dogs and can be fatal if not diagnosed and treated. "We believe that by using nematodes to protect your garden against slugs, you are also protecting your dogs from lungworm" says Gavin Wood from BASF. TV Vet Marc Abraham explains "Lungworm relies greatly on slug and snail hosts in order to grow and develop, and it's from ingesting these or just licking their trails that disease transmission may occur.

Product Reviews
The quality of the nemaslugs this year was appalling, too lumpy to disperse or feed through a watering can rose. A change of supplier will take place after many satisfactory years

The worms survive postage, and a short time in fridge. They are easy to use. I can see some of them in the soil, but wait to see if there will be fewer slugs than usual!
Slug damage can be recognised by the irregular holes with smooth edges they make on leaves and nearby will be evidence of their slime trials. They are particularly fond of succulent seedlings, which when left unprotected, can be totally destroyed in a single night.
As well as attacking the leafy parts of plants, slugs will also feast on your fruit and vegetable crop. Slugs will chew holes in your ripening strawberries and tomatoes. Potatoes are particularly vulnerable, since they are attacked without the slugs having to leave the safety of being underground.
Nemaslug Slug Killer
Nemaslug controls all common species of small to medium sized slugs (up to 8cm - 2.5-3 inches). Start your control regime early and you will be able to target the young slugs growing under the ground feeding on humus.
Nemaslug uses the nematode Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita, which was discovered by scientists at the government research institute at Bristol, England.
One application of Nemaslug provides 300,000 nematodes for every square metre of soil, giving at least six weeks control of slugs. This is generally enough time for seedlings and bedding plants to get well established.
Nemaslug is easy to apply and does not leave any unsightly residues. The majority of the slugs will die underground, so don't expect to see dead slugs lying around.
Apply Nemaslug to moist soil. The soil temperature should be 5ºC (40ºF) or over (this is when plants start to grow). Nematodes are capable of surviving the odd frost; so don't worry if the temperature falls after you have applied Nemaslug. Metaldehyde based slug pellets are reported not to be effective below 7ºC.
Potatoes are susceptible to slug attack later in the season than most other plants. So you can delay applying Nemaslug till 6-7 weeks before harvest, when the tubers are most likely to be eaten by slugs.
Unlike some controls, Nemaslug continues to work well during wet weather - exactly when you need protection against slugs!

What The Press Say
Landscape MagazineJune 2018
Defending Dahlias
The main problem with dahlias are pests such as slugs, caterpillars and thrips. The Nemaslug and Nemasys range of products contain millions of beneficial nematodes that can travel through soil to where the pests are hiding. Slugs spend most of their time underground and nematodes can attack them before they are in sight unlike when using slug pellets.
