I bought a selection of these stakes to build my own frames around tall plants. They are tough enough to push/hammer into my stony clay soil and joining them together with the clips from the same range produce a good rigid structure. I will have to wait and see how they cope as the plants get bigger and heavier.
If you have got clay soil and high winds the 90 cm stakes are of limited use around the allotment. I found the diameter of the tube to be far too small making the stakes very flimsy; within a matter of days 3 of the 6 in use in a small frame supporting insect mesh netting had failed, the bamboo equivalents are fine! I would imagine the bigger diameter stakes are more robust but will wait to see if there are any reviews forthcoming before trying them.
