The aluminum framework of this extra height 1.5m tall cage - we've added an extra 30cm to our standard vegetable cage kit to let broccoli, brussels and other leggy veg to stand up straight. It's simple and very quick to assemble, can be taken down in the blink of an eye and takes up little room when storing and being aluminium, the tubing will not rust. The 'Build-a-Ball' connectors allow the cage configuration to be easily changed and extending your structure is simple as all the aluminum tubing components, netting, pegs and balls are available separately.

My new slot and lock 18ft fruit cage erected in less than half an hour, Very sturdy even without extra braces. This cage system is easy to lock together and as poles are coated aluminium will not rust out, so will give years of servis. It also has the advantage of being easily dismanteld and stored for the winter. Excellent value for money, compared to ones avalible from garden centres with their plastic poles.
All parts of the kit arrived ok and in a reasonable time. Not easy to assemble but eventually managed (needed two persons) For stability it needed guy ropes (ties of nylon) which were provided; BUT our soil is sandy and a good wind could pull the "tent pegs" out of the ground. This meant we had to put parts back together after a wet and windy day and tie the guys to handy posts or the hedge etc. DID it WORK? Yes in that it stopped all bird life from pinching the fruit BUT the instructions could have been more comprehensive and it needs something to stop some of the aluminium poles and the ball joints from coming apart and needing reassembly
We bought the 1M wide x 2.75M long version which was promptly delivered and went together without hassle. The netting provided was more than ample for the frame size & fixed to the ground with plenty of wire hoops. We have noticed many butterflies making vain attempts to enter, so we conclude it does the intended job very well. We added 4 diagonal bamboo poles, tied to corner uprights, to improve rigidity - shame some corner bracing system isn't included. At 2.75 M long the netting weighs heavy and is bending the longer aluminium side poles. It would benefit from a middle support upright & joiner sphere down each side. Otherwise a good product.
