Anemone hupehensis Whirlwind, is the best double form white anemone, it also commonly known as Japanese anemone, and Japanese windflower. It is a vigorous, erect, woody-based perennial with mid-green leaves, white flowers and often with twisted, greenish-white tepals at the centres.
Basal leaves are 10-20cm (4-8in) long, stem leaves are 5-12cm (2-5in) long, white flowers to 9cm (3½in) across, often with twisted, greenish-white tepals at the centres.
Very hardy even in the severest continental climates including exposed upland locations in the UK and can withstand temperatures to -20° (-4°F)
Early in the year, typically January till end of March, herbaceous plants might be supplied in 9cm pots to ensure timely despatch.
