Supplied as a set of 4 the arch ground sockets come with a driving cap which makes installation easier. Once installed the arch uprights can then slide into the ground sockets for greater stability.

I purchased the ground sockets as an alternative to concreting the arch into the ground. In my case the ground is deep loam with few stones and there was no problem driving the sockets into the ground. I will caution that you have to be careful that the socket does go straight into the ground and not at an angle and that they are the correct distance apart as they are not easily extracted. I found them to be of robust construction and suited to my requirements.
A good product but care is needed to ensure the ground will take the ground socket to the desired depth - about 20 inches. I hit bricks and concrete so it turned into a major task hence I could only give 2 star for ease of use. Even if you have decent soil I would recommend using an auger attachment on a drill to make the holes and backfill when you are sure they are in the right place. Very secure when completed.
