Basil African Blue is a beautiful and fragrant culinary basil with dark purple veined leaves which produces tall blue-purple flower spikes.
The pack of 3 organic basil plants are supplied in 9cm pots and will be most reliable when grown indoors in the UK. Choose a nice sunny windowsill or keep the pot in the greenhouse.

Growing Advice
In the UK it is most reliable to grow basil indoors, a sunny windowsill will work well or grow in the greenhouse, best grown in pots. Plant 1 plant per pot or allow 25cm between plants.
The Basil plants are annual which means that it completes its whole life cycle in one year.
Basil is a Mediterranean plant so here in the UK we need to try and recreate this climate to get the best results.
Keep the soil a little moist, but don’t overwater. The best time to water them is at noon in bright sunshine (quite the opposite from most plants!). Pinch off any flowers as they start to form to encourage more leaves to grow.
Pick your basil leaves as soon as they are big enough, regular picking will encourage the plant to keep producing more.
Keep an eye out for aphids.
