Ladybirds and bees work hard in the garden, so it's only fair to reward them with a comfy place to live - and the Bee and Ladybird Box is all that and more! The box is made from cedar which is renowned for resisting rotting, damage from water and warping and siting it close to vegetation and ground cover will have the solitary bees and ladybirds making a 'beeline' for their new home!
- Place Bee and Ladybird Box near nettles, angelica and dill to provide extra incentive for bees
- Site in a sheltered location close to tree branches or vegetation
- Place in early spring
- Solitary bees will be attracted to the bamboo tubes - they are very docile and excellent pollinators
- Ladybirds will make homes in the drilled holes and happily gorge on aphids
Product Reviews
Excellent product and well made, an ideal functional and meaningful gift for someone, havnt as yet put it up so cannot comment on its functionallity but expected to be good.
I guess the expectations I had set for this box were too high. It is on my fence in a sunny spot, and has occasionally housed a bee. However the construction is of poor quality - the top sections have warped to such an extent that the box is no longer covered. I couldn't really recommend this in all honesty
