Campsis radicans Yellow Trumpet is a vigorous climber with dark green leaves, strongly toothed leaflets and produces terminal bunches of 4-12 slender, tubular-trumpet-shaped yellow flowers 6-8cm (2½-3in) long
Ideal for a sunny south facing wall but can tolerate some shade in warmer areas, hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations.
May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in very cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)
- Deciduous - dark green leaves 2.5-10cm (1-4in) long, composed of 7-11 toothed leaflets
- Deep yellow flowers to 6-8cm in length
- Flowers July to Sept
- Can tolerate some shade in warmer areas
- Plant in fertile moist well-drained soil
- Train and tie in shoots until aerial roots have taken hold
- Height - 10m (33ft)
- Allow up to 14 days for delivery
