Carbon Gold GroChar BioChar Tree Soil Improver is proven to significantly reduce losses and improve the vitality of transplanted and established trees.
A study by the company’s research labs on 2,000 established ash trees over three years in Essex found that while a third of the established trees monitored have become infected with Chalara Ash dieback, none of the 20 trees which had enriched biochar applied to their roots were hit.
Ideal for decompacting and amending waterlogged soils, and stabilising soil moisture in sandy soils, enriched biochar allows trees to grow strong, healthy root systems in the harshest conditions.
Carbon Gold’s peat free biochar products are used by professional growers, allotments and home gardeners because they deliver superb results.
Bio Char is enriched with mycorrhizal fungi, seaweed and wormcasts. For trees, shrubs, roses, bare root stock and hedging.
Supplier recommends 1kg of GroChar BioChar Tree Soil Improver per m2 under the canopy of the tree which is half of 4L box.
Ideally it needs to be forked into the ground and covered with a mulch otherwise the natural biology will react to the sunlight

Tried and Tested Soil Additives - Dave Finkle
If you have bad patches of soil, this is literally medicine for the job. Gro Char is formulated almost as a rescue remedy! On allotments you often get crop sick beds where generations of growers have sucked the life out of the soil. The product has a host of elements that recondition earth and act as a life support system. But you can of course add it directly to pots and containers. Additionally, the compound has the ability to aid root development and stimulate growth.

New hope for tackling ash dieback as researchers claim charcoal treatment makes trees more resilient
A fungal disease that is strangling the life out of Britain's 80 million ash trees could be thwarted by the discovery of a natural soil treatment. A newly developed "enriched biochar", which combines a purified form of charcoal with fungi, seaweed and worm casts could help ash trees resist devastating ash dieback, according to research by tree and shrub care company Bartlett Tree Experts.
