Creating and monitoring a hot inner core of decomposing material - a process known as "hot composting" is simple with the help of the 52cm long probe of this Compost Thermometer. Composting has always been an important part of organic gardening and a thermometer is a vital part of the compost maker's armoury.
The easy-to-read dial records the temperature in both degrees C and Farenheit. Suitable for recording the temperature in almost every type of compost bin and plays a major part in helping to ensure weed seeds are killed and a rich garden compost is produced.

I thoroughly recommend purchasing this thermometer, it is ideal for assessing when your compost is ready to turn, when the weed seeds are killed and exactly when the rich material is ready to use. The probe is almost 2' long, which is wonderful for testing the temperature towards the middle of a large heap of compost.
