Cranberry Pilgram is an excellent flavoured cranberry variety producing dainty pink flowers in June/July followed by bright red fruits late August. If you have an acid soil, this cranberry can be grown in the garden, but if not it is ideal for pots and containers if you use an ericaceous compost.
Cranberry 'Pilgrim' is an evergreen but turns an attractive bronze colour over winter and because it has a low creeping habit is perfect for growing around blueberries, which also enjoy the same growing conditions.
Cranberries add a tangy flavour to everything from stuffing and sauces to drinks and barbecues. They are a good source of Vitamin C and the berries are ready for picking from late September in the south of England to mid-October in Scotland.
