Product Reviews
This seems to have done well on my raised beds. I first used it in 2017 and the wood is still going strong as far as I can tell. I can't help but feel suspicious about what is in it. Could it be one of those things that were considered safe many years ago, only to be discovered to be harmful years later. It doesn't seem to tell you the ingredients which I do find weird. Yet here I am purchasing it again. Time will tell I guess.
Did a lot of research before purchase even rang customer service who were really helpful. I was looking for a wood preserver for new softwood love seat /table that did not contain a toxic chemical cocktail. Actually enjoyed using this did not have to check the forecast or don a haz mat suit or mask or put the cat under 48 hr house arrest . I guessed what I would need weighed it mixed it in a paint kettle and applied with a brush . (both so easy to clean) afterwards . I live on the east facing sea front of a small north sea resort - so product has been well and truly tested in the last few months . The cat and I are really pleased that our seats are protected and without causing damage to us or the environment. ( the warnings I have read on other products terrified me)
The treatment comes as a powder. this is added to a fixed amount of water. I applied it with a large paintbrush, over a large baby bath which caught the run-off. I still have a large proportion of it kept in 2L milk bottles. I used it 2-3 years ago, in another project ,and the wood is still solid. I do not know if it harms micro-organisms, as some of the enclosed soil is very productive, but other parts are not. I think it is harmless, but am not 100% sure.
