Fruit Cage Steel Angled Sloped
"Our garden measures 22 x 18 metres and has a mix of flower beds, borders, vegetable beds and now the fruit cage. In 2015 we decided that part of the garden look tired and needed a bit of a makeover, in addition as novice growers of fruit we wanted to convert a small area to protect the planted and potted fruit we were trying to grow! The plot is angled, curved and sloped so the bespoke team had a challenge to design a fruit cage to match the plot as we also had to renew some of the paving which caused some changes to measurements but the team handled every change we threw at them in their stride. The ground itself is granite based and difficult to work with and we had to install concrete plinths to protect drainage piping. The design team had products to suit every situation we came across.
We found Harrod Horticultural through an advert in the RHS Garden magazine and followed that by visiting the excellent Harrod Horticultural website. The bespoke made-to-measure option was ideal however initially we didn’t know if Harrod Horticultural would be interested as the plot is not that big and we are based in Ireland. However Harrod Horticultural quickly confirmed that neither was an issue we decided to work with Harrod Horticultural and our visit to the Harrod Horticultural stand at RHS Chelsea in 2016 confirmed to us that we had made the right choice.
The service was excellent in terms of the co-ordination with Jackie and working with the design team to give them as much information as possible to help with the eventual design. The returned design documentation was excellent giving a 3D image of what the cage would look like and a full list of the bill of materials. The product was delivered ahead of schedule and direct to the door with all of the parts packaged and marked which made the on-site installation relatively straight forward.
Based on our experience with the fruit cage yes we would recommend Harrod Horticultural because of the bespoke design, the service co-ordination and the quality of products delivered."
