The Harrod Slot & Lock® Vegetable Cages have been fitted with our ingenious new Frame Saver Clips that not only protect the framework from damage but also allow easy access to the cage to tend to your plants.
The fitted heavy duty 7mm butterfly netting, complete with neat stitched seams, sits inside the cage framework and is attached by the Harrod Frame Saver Clips. The clips simply hook through the netting mesh and connect to the top rods of the cage framework. The clips can then function like a curtain rail giving quick and easy access to the cage.
Under storm force winds and heavy snowfall the pressure against the netting causes the clips to detach from the framework. The netting then drops over the crops, so they remain protected, but the frame is no longer subjected to the forces that could cause the framework to buckle.
The framework itself comprises strong and corrosion resistant 16mm aluminium tubing, powder coated black, which is secured using our Award Winning Harrod Slot & Lock® Connectors. The cages have also been updated to include the Harrod Net Claw Pegs - an innovative peg which is inserted into the ground once and use the tension of the netting to hook and unhook the netting from the claw teeth, saves unpegging and any potential net damage.
Please Note:- The Slot & Lock Cages can be modified by cutting the aluminium tubing - if you can't see the perfect size then buy a size larger and cut the tubing to fit. We are unable to offer a bespoke design service for our Slot & Lock Cages.

Actually not always stormproof. My original cage had old style clips and legs bent in a storm. Bought new legs and new style clips. In a storm the net did not drop down - caught on fixings holding the cage together in high wind, I now have bent legs again. Would not buy this again. More robust cage, also from Harrod, with much thicker legs has lasted well however.
Sorry to hear of the issues you have had with the cage. When we have tested this the net has dropped as it is designed too. We will forward this to our design team for further investigation. We appreciate your feedback.
Looks goods when erected, but only time will tell.
This is a well made product which has been thought through. Sturdy - I did not bother with the corner reinforcements which are expensive and probably unnecessary- easy to use with the ability to draw back the netting to access the bed. My only gripe are the plastic pegs which do not grip mt fresh soil and all too easily pull out making it hard to anchor the netting.
