Lollo Rossa Lettuce is a wonderful looking lettuce and a must in any kitchen garden. It forms tight frilly deep maroon heads that stand in good condition for some time. You can cut as heads or pick a few leaves as needed.
Lettuces and leaves are really very low-maintenance, so you can’t go too wrong. As a general rule try to give them about 15cm of space. Keep the weeds down to give them the best chance and water well, particularly during dry spells.
You can start harvesting as soon as you’re happy with the size of them. Cut leaves carefully from the stem and they will keep producing more.
