Mighty Mite is a real greenhouse, compost heap and even chicken coup superhero, ridding your garden soil of bad guys such as small vine weevil larvae, cutworms, fungus gnats (aka sciarid flies), springtails, caterpillars and the maggots of many pesky flies too!
Mighty Mite's alter-ego is Phoretic mite, a ravenous soil-dwelling predatory mite which reproduces rapidly and feeds on the above menu, making it an ideal natural ally for gardeners. Mighty mite will happily devour sciarid fly larvae in greenhouse compost and soil; it's happy to live in beds and borders outside and will also help rid the compost heap of springtails and fly maggots - and when the compost is spread around the garden, Mighty Mite goes too!
This naturally occuring pest control solution is available in 500g shaker bottles, each of which will cover around 2m² and if you keep poultry, you'll be pleased to hear that Mighty Mite will feed on housefly larvae in chicken manure, keeping your chicken coup and house free from this annoying pest!

Live Pest Control Delivery
Being a live product mites are ordered weekly every Thursday. The mites are then delivered on Wednesday of the following week for delivery by the end of the week.
For example an order placed on a Monday would be ordered on Thursday, received the following Wednesday for delivery by the end of that week.
Product Reviews
I used it on three of my compost bins but I cannot see any difference Mighty Mite makes
Product arrived promptly and was in an ordinary open- mouthed bottle. Tiny mites so obviously could not actually see them in amongst the soil. Liberally sprinkled the mix on my plants (mostly indoor vegs) and waited. 3 weeks later - moderate success I think, as some of plants have seem to eradicated their sciarid fly infestation whilst others have signs of a second coming. Overall pleased but not a 100%.
It comes in a screw top plastic bottle therefore is easy to use. It looks like a combination of fine compost and vermiculite. You have to take the efficiency on trust because you cannot see the evidence down inside the pots or troughs. I reserve my judgement.
