Harrod Slot & Lock® Bean Column is a sturdy matt black powder coated aluminium runner bean frame wider and stronger than flimsy bamboo wigwam supports and will last season after season.
The frame secures rigidly with the help of our AWARD WINNING Harrod Slot & Lock® connectors, and makes assembly (screwdriver required) and disassembly of the bean frame quick and easy for off-season storage too.
The super strong 80mm/3” knotted mesh netting offers further support for climbing plants on all sides so tying isn’t needed and it’ll help keep plants upright for better air circulation, cleaner crops and fewer disease problems.
The netting is large enough to pass a hand through for easy runner bean harvesting and is strong enough for plants to
be torn off at the end of the season.
Supplied with releasable cable ties to secure netting, whilst the frame anchors to the ground with 2 heavy-duty U pegs.

I'd been looking for some form of support where the height could be adjusted, re appropriating what was a support designed for runner beans I have exactly what is need. I now have several tiers supporting the different branches and I was able to build it round the existing standard gooseberries. I'd previously built wooden frames but these have always rotted after a few years and haven't really done what I wanted. This system can be adapted to support small fruit trees as well and you can assemble the frame around the plant.
I am very pleased with my frame for my climbing beans. It took me by myself quite a while to fit together, but it is very good and strong. The beans are climbing happily up the netting.
This is an excellent product, strong frame when assembled and seems to stand up to high winds with good ground fixing. Have used many products from Harrod before including veg cages using the same slot and lock fixings. Very impressed and again pleased with my purchase
