Our Organic Cambridge Gage Tree produces the classic Greengage fruit with an excellent rich flavoured gage. The sweet and juicy fruit medium sized fruit with yellow green bloomy skin and yellow flesh are picked mid August.
Like most plums, Cambridge Gage Trees are well suited to growing as a fan on a south facing wall or fence and as we supply this gage as a maiden tree, training and pruning to achieve this form is simple - as is the bush type tree style which also gives excellent results.
Organic Cambridge Gage Trees are despatched in bare-root form between November and March.

- Trees grown on St Julien A rootstock are approx. 1.5m when supplied and reach 4-5.5m (12' - 18')

Planting - do not attempt to plant your fruit trees when the ground is frozen or waterlogged. The trees can be stored in their packaging in an outbuilding or garage for 2-3 days, or can be heeled into the soil where the ground is not as frozen. Alternatively, plant up in large pots or containers and ensure the roots have good contact with the soil.
