Painting Wooden Troughs

Please could you let me know if the finish on the Mini Manger Trough can be painted with Ronseal paint?

I have consulted with our Design Engineers regarding painting the Mini Manager Troughs.  This is perfectly OK to do so as  the high pressure treatment they are given ensures that the preservative penetrates deep into the structure of the wood and becomes chemically fixed, meaning any surface treatment should adhere.

If painting the product with a solid colour please ensure that the wood is thoroughly dry and seal any knots with knot sealer.  Other than that follow the instructions of the painting system issued by the manufacturer.  Often an undercoat is recommended.
