Pepper seems to be losing its skin

Dear Lynn

I have an interesting problem I can't seem to find anything about and as far as I am aware its only been in the last week or so:

I have a Banana Pepper plant that is looking as far as I can tell very healthy apart from where the short stalk going from the pepper top to where it joins the main plant on a couple of peppers seems to be loosing its skin or outer layer giving the appearance it's drying out but apart from this plant has been doing well. Pepper itself looks healthy as does the main plant where it joins - it's just that short bit of stalk

Hope you can help

Cheers
Matt

Dear Matt

You’ve got me with this one - I’ve just been to look at my peppers but my stalks seem fine!

It doesn’t sound like any of the obvious pepper problems, the only thing I can think of is that the stalks are growing quickly to hold the weight of the growing peppers and it may be that this is how the stalk grows to cope with the weight.

Sorry couldn’t be more helpful but if your peppers are healthy and taking up plenty of water I wouldn’t worry about it.

Kind Regards
