Bought a couple of hundred of these for fruit cages and other uses. Thought they would save cutting standard ties and thus reduce expense and plastic waste. Sometimes fiddly to remove especially if reaching up high. I take the roof netting off the cages in winter in case of heavy snow fall. Bitterly disappointed when reusing them on the second spring to find they had become brittle and at least 40 have now snapped rendering them useless. I expect outdoor plastics to be UV resistant and last at least 5 years. I now realise it will be easier, cheaper and cause no more waste to use standard cable ties and just cut them off when removing. A shame as I am a fan of Harrods slot and lock system otherwise.

The ties are excellent and easy to use and, having a release mechanism, can be repositioned if required. However, they do become brittle over time, which is only a problem if after some years one needs to remove a section of the netting for any reason when the use of new ties would be prudent.
I used these ties to affix heavy duty netting to a square section frame. These ties worked perfectly. It was particularly useful that the ties were releasable as I found I had to reposition some ties as I attempted to get the netting taught on the frame. I have found that after several years of outdoor exposure the ties do become a little brittle but non of the ties have actually failed. Now that I am replacing the netting however I will definitely be replacing the ties with more of the same.
