You will get really lovely tones of colour on this Red Russian Kale plant as it grows, making it a very attractive addition to the vegetable garden.

These plants will arrive bare-rooted with an approx. height of 10-15 cm. Kale is best grown in raised beds or in a well dug vegetable patch, prefers a sunny site with deep, firm, moisture retentive soil.

Make sure these plants don’t dry out – regular watering is important during dry spells. Keep weeds down and cover with a netting to keep birds away. Use a liquid feed once they have started to grow a little as they do need a little extra nitrogen.

Red Russian is the sweetest of the kale types and an incredibly nutritious vegetable, it can be enjoyed steamed, baked in a gratin or used in stir-fries, stews or even smoothies.
