Roman Arches Linked for Apples

"A designer contacted us with a requirement for a series of bespoke linked arches with a training wire system to train crab apples over the structure for winter colour, providing winter colour in the garden. The design incorporated a path that narrowed at one end so each arch had to decrease in size from one end to the other and be scaled in proportion. The arches are linked using a high tension steel wire to train the espalier crab apple trees up and along the structure. The designer wanted to also provide a viewpoint window at a particular point in the structure to enable the clients to view an established magnolia off to one side - this was achieved by designing the structure with a missing section off the high tension wire on one side. After a site visit to measure up, our design team were able to supply a CAD for marking out on site and upon approval of this we proceeded to manufacture. The project was delivered on time and on budget."
