Each piece of furniture is chemically etched by hand after the zinc coating is applied leaving an antique finish. The joy of these hand processes means that every piece has its own character that evolves with age and improves as the product weathers. Colours can vary from light to dark grey. The finish is always varied, it is not a paint and is not intended to be completely uniform, which adds to the charm of these unique pieces.
The Southwold Round Dining Table
The robust round dining table has stylish curved legs, scrolled feet and an attractive top design and can comfortably seat up to 6 people, measuring 1.3m diameter and standing 73cm high.
The sets are available as the Round Dining Table with either 4 Carver chairs or 6 Carver Chairs. The table and chairs are structurally guaranteed for 25 years, but our testing suggests that all the Southwold Furniture Collection can be genuinely considered as heirloom pieces that will last for generations if looked after.
The Southwold Carver Chairs
The Southwold Carver Chairs in the sets have been designed to be both comfortable and beautiful. The material has been carefully selected using different thicknesses of steel to ensure the right amount of 'give' while retaining structural strength. The chair legs use 8mm thick steel for strength and rigidity, the arms use 5mm thick steel and the seat base and back use 3mm slats to give comfort and spring to the seat.
Add cushions to your furniture set
Cushions are not supplied but can be bought separately and are available in either Ivory or Grey. The cushions measure 47cm x 47cm x 4cm thick. Made with Acrylic Canvas the cushions are water resistant but store away during the winter and wet weather.
The cushions can be washed by hand at a cool temperature using hand washing detergent. They need to be allowed to dry fully which can take some time. Machine washing is not advised according to the material manufacturer.
Complete your furniture set
Parasol is not supplied but is available to buy separately. Measuring 3m wide and 2.25m tall the parasol has an easy wind mechanism and can also be easily tilted. The aluminium frame and polyester canopy in stone colour, is shower resistant and has a UV50+ sun protection rating. A base is also available which weighs 32kg, providing stable support for the canopy.

We are delighted with our new dining table and chair set. It has added to our enjoyment of the garden. Delivered within the promised time frame by polite and knowledgeable staff. This paved area is in shade which is bliss in the hot weather. However, in the cooler months wooden furniture on here becomes green and slimy. We anticipate that the Southwold furniture will retain its smart appearance all year round. Being British made is a significant bonus.
We saw these on-line and had doubts about purchasing without being able to see them, as we are too far from any stockists to take a look. We looked around and didn't find anything comparable, so went ahead and placed the order. Table and four chairs with cushions arrived in June and we are very glad we went for them. They are very solidly built, lovely to look at and very comfortable - even with an lab who thinks he is a lap dog joining in! Looking forward to many years of use and never needing to replace them. Ordered by phone as I had a few questions to ask; staff were very helpful. Delivery was on time as planned, and the delivery team adapted when the entry to the garden was too narrow, and got the table base in over a neighbour's fence .
Beautifully made dining furniture, made in Uk. Excellent quality for the price and very easy to maintain. We have used the furniture all year and even without the cushions on the chairs it is very comfortable. A number of friends have admired it and I think will follow up with a purchase for 2023.
