Treating Aphids without harming bees
I have an apple tree growing against a fence close to my bee hive. Is there anything I can use now (or soon) to treat a woolly aphid infestation on the tree without affecting my hard working bees?
Diane
If you can get the spray onto the woolly aphid then Savona Fatty Acid Concentrate would be a good choice. This kills on contact but is safe to use with bees around. You will need more than one application with woolly aphid, as they are difficult aphids to kill. It is important to get good coverage with the spray. Savona can be purchased from Harrod Horticultural. I hope this helps.
