Fruit Cage Steel Peak Roof

"I previously had an unstable fruit cage with less heavy-duty netting, frequently causing tears and subsequent entry of birds as well as the roof caving in after heavy downfalls of snow in winter. Height was always a problem as I was never able to stand up completely straight which made weeding and fruit picking tiresome. The wooden doorframe also never quite fitted which allowed entry of pests.

The brief was to fit a Peak roof decorative steel fruit cage, protecting soft fruit bushes and summer and autumn raspberries. This has proved not only incredibly durable but aesthetically has become a leading feature of the kitchen garden. The steel frame coated in black has no rusting or deterioration and is sturdy and very strong. Securely anchored to the ground, the frame has no rock or movement, ensuring no pests and vermin can get in under the netting. The very sturdy steel-framed door has an anti-drop hinge and an easy to open slide across opening latch, which works easily and smoothly. Internal height of the cage is excellent allowing for even my 6ft 2 husband to help with weeding and fruit harvesting! The heavy-duty netting has proved incredibly resilient over the past 2 years, with absolutely no tearing or damage leaving vulnerable openings.

The roof prevents light to medium snowfall from settling and if any heavier fall is forecast the roof netting can be quickly unclipped so it avoids taking heavy weight. The 10-year framework guarantee is excellent and after 2 years the fruit cage still looks pristine and newly fitted.

The fitting over several days was very efficient with a great explanation of how it would be constructed. Very pleasant and friendly on-site fitters.

"After 5 years this high quality fruit cage remains in the pristine condition it was when expertly fitted by Harrod staff. The netting durability is fantastic and has continued to be taut with the framework remaining very strong and sturdy. The opening door has always been a great fit and after all this time is still exactly in alignment.

The pagoda feature is a stunning feature to my kitchen garden giving elegance and style to what could be a large ugly structure.
